Christmas bride Christine Bleakley marries Frank Lampard in fairytale ceremony in Knightsbridge - Ant and Dec lead legion of celebrity guests

Christine Bleakley was transformed into a stunning Christmas bride today when she arrived at St Paul’s Church in Knightsbridge, London, to marry former England footballer Frank Lampard in a star-studded ceremony.

The ex-Chelsea, Manchester City and West Ham ace, who this summer swapped the Premier League to play in the MLS with New York City FC, returned to London for the nuptials.

The happy couple were joined by friends from the world of entertainment and sport, including Ms Bleakley's This Morning co-presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, plus the groom's former team-mates John Terry and Petr Cech and cousin Jamie Redknapp.

The former Dancing On Ice presenter wore a Suzanne Neville dress - joining Katherine Jenkins, Victoria Pendleton and Kym Marsh, who all picked the Knightsbridge designer for their fairytale weddings.

Christine had already been spotted wearing Suzanne Neville's designs - most recently at Buckingham Palace where her fiancé was awarded an OBE.

The high-profile couple have been together for six years. Their engagement was announced in mid-2011.

Wild Ireland presenter Christine (36), who is also a former Strictly Come Dancing contestant, admitted in 2012 that she was in no rush to walk down the aisle with Frank.

Both steadfastly refused to succumb to any pressure to tie the knot throughout their four-year engagement.

But the former Chelsea midfielder, who won 106 caps for England, revealed in June he was finally "very ready" to marry the Newtownards woman, who began her TV career at BBC Northern Ireland.

Lampard, who was at one time the highest-earning player in the English Premier League, has spent much of the year in New York, where he has been playing for New York City FC in Major League Soccer.

The Sun newspaper reported: "Christine and Frank have had the date set for a while but have been trying to keep it under wraps.

"They want it to be an intimate affair and have only invited close friends and family.

"They haven't signed a big magazine deal like a lot of stars do, because it's not their style."

It is understood that pop star Ed Sheeran will perform at the wedding reception.
