Clooney set to marry in Venice
George Clooney has revealed he is set to wed fiancee Amal Alamuddin in Venice later this month.
The Hollywood heartthrob and the British lawyer were rumoured to be marrying at George's plush pad in Lake Como but the actor has now confirmed the couple have picked Venice, Italy for their nuptials.
The star spilled the beans as he was accepting an award in Tuscany during the Celebrity Fight Night event, saying: "I met my lovely bride-to-be here in Italy, whom I will be marrying, in a couple of weeks, in Venice, of all places."
George, 53, and Amal, 36, got engaged in April and i n June they were spotted in Italy scouting out potential wedding venues.
Then last month they posted their wedding banns at Kensington and Chelsea register office, which indicated that they would be getting married in Italy.
There had been widespread speculation that they would exchange vows at George's £25 million Lake Como home but it's thought the couple decided against it because they felt the venue wasn't private enough.
George and Amal got together last September so the wedding will be around their one-year anniversary.
