Cooper: Good luck to the new Doctor
Dominic Cooper has said it will be a brave man who takes on the role of Doctor Who, as Matt Smith's shoes will be hard to fill.
The Captain America star has been one of the names linked to the role of the Time Lord after Matt confirmed he was leaving the hit BBC sci-fi show at the end of the year.
Dominic said: "It's nice to be thought about, wherever it comes from. Even the fact that someone thought, 'Well maybe that's a good idea.' It's a very nice acknowledgement. But whoever does it, it's a very hard job.
"The shoes he's stepping into - Matt's done such a wonderful job and the intriguing and interesting and brave and daring choices he made with him.
"So good luck to whoever is doing it next... but what an opportunity!"
The Mamma Mia! star will next appear in a new TV series about James Bond creator Ian Fleming, who led an exciting playboy life, and worked for Britain's Naval Intelligence Division during the Second World War.
Dominic revealed: "He was certainly inspired by his own life and what he saw. I think he wished he was James Bond and actually he set out to be that person, but almost failed in a way. Because he was certainly not brave enough to kill another man, which was very honest and good of him. But he did a great deal for the war effort."
The actor added: "Playing out that type of person was great fun."
