Cotton is 'allergic' to fiance

Fearne Cotton refuses to call her husband-to-be her fiance - because she hates the word.

The Radio 1 DJ is engaged to photographer and skateboarder Jesse Jenkins, who got down on one knee to propose to her on her 29th birthday.

Fearne told Glamour magazine: "I can't say fiance. It sounds really pretentious. I'm allergic to it. Husband is fine. I'll be fine with that."

The presenter said that she won't be having a big wedding because the couple - who split in 2009 before getting back together - are terrible at planning.

Asked about going back to a former boyfriend, she said: "I hate rules. Whether you're going back with someone for the tenth time, or you've been with them for years and you're not married, it doesn't matter as long as you're happy.

"We always had this magnetic connection and this deep love, and we knew it wasn't right to be apart, but we gave it a go and it didn't work, so we tried to distance ourselves.

"But we were like magnets clanging back together. Some people get together and it's all rosy forever, but for others you've got to learn lots of lessons before you're ready to make that commitment."

Fearne, who turns 30 this year, said she wanted to spend her thirties "baking and chilling out and having a family".
