Cowell sneers at Brand's revolution

Simon Cowell has taken a swipe at Russell Brand over the comedian's call for a revolution.

Russell has been vocal with his opinions, suggesting the current political system needs an overhaul and calling for an end to inequality.

But X Factor boss Simon teased that it was ridiculous for Russell to be talking about a revolution when he makes so much money.

He told Shortlist: "A revolution? He's getting 10 million dollars a movie. I mean, come on!"

When Simon was told that Russell wanted to do it " for the people", he said: "O f course it is!"

And he suggested Russell put his money where his mouth is if he wants to be taken seriously.

"Well, give your money back then, Russell," Simon said. "I always say that about people. Start off as you mean to go on. Donate all the money back to the revolution and then I'll believe it.

"I'm living in a 10-million dollar mansion and I want a revolution? Give me a break."
