David Tennant to voice Scrooge McDuck in Disney's DuckTales revival

Former Doctor Who star David Tennant will take on another beloved children's character when he lends his voice to Scrooge McDuck.

The Scottish actor will lead a cast of comedians for a revival of the animated Disney series DuckTales, with Community star Danny Pudi, Parks and Recreation actor Ben Schwartz and Saturday Night Live veteran Bobby Moynihan voicing his grandnephews Huey, Dewey and Louie respectively.

The show follows the richest duck in the world as he goes on globetrotting adventures.

Scrooge's nephew Donald Duck will also make appearances, along with fellow returning characters Launchpad McQuack and Webby Vanderquack.

DuckTales originally ran from 1987 to 1990, and spawned a spin-off movie.

The revival is expected to air in 2017.
