Deal Or No Deal roadshow dream come true for presenter Noel Edmonds
Noel Edmonds said that taking Deal Or No Deal on the road to fans has been something he "wanted to do for years".
Channel 4 announced the studio version of the game show will finish after a final series in the autumn, but the 67-year-old host will take it on tour around the UK's famous landmarks later this year.
He told Press Association: "It's the beginning of an exciting new era for Deal. Traditionally Deal fans came from all over the UK (and the world) to visit the Dream Factory in Bristol. Now we are taking the show to the fans."
" Jay Hunt (Channel 4's chief creative officer) and I have been working on this for the last six months and now the logistics are virtually finalised we can start recording the shows in some extraordinary locations."
He continued: "We can go anywhere and this is something I've wanted to do for years. Twenty-two boxes, a phone and me. Where will we pop up next?"
The former Noel's House Party host has four new TV shows in the pipeline with Channel 4, including price-guessing quiz Cheap Cheap Cheap and auction game show Noel Edmonds' Sell Or Swap.
Asked how he thinks viewers will react to his new ventures, he said: "Let's wait and see. It's early days and a lot of work has to take place before we go to air.
"Needless to say I'm hugely grateful to Jay Hunt and Channel 4 for this massive vote of confidence in my ability to create popular TV shows."
Edmonds has presented almost 3,000 episodes of Deal Or No Deal since it began in 2005 and handed out £40 million in prize money, although just eight people have won the £250,000 jackpot.
The format has been sold to 76 countries.
