Dean says Ice comeback is possible
Axed show Dancing On Ice could return, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean have said.
The ITV show, featuring the pair as mentors, i s coming to an end after one last, ninth, series.
Asked whether he thought the skating show could ever return to air, Christopher didn't rule out the possibility.
"You never know. They (ITV) rested Saturday Night Takeaway so it might come back," he said.
If the show was to return Christopher said he wouldn't rule out a return either, saying: "A great person says 'never say never'."
The final series, broadcast next year, is set to be an all-star special featuring past finalists and contestants from earlier shows.
C hristopher said of the finale: "It's going to be very nostalgic at the same time. I think it's going to be the best series because we are having an all-star cast and have got several of the past winners that will be competing head to head. From a competition point of view, it's all these past winners coming back to find out, ultimately, who is the best skater."
Jayne said: "We've got an amazing cast, we've got lots of our finalists and champions so there's going to be a lot of competitiveness within the ranks."
The Olympic stars said they would not be "retiring from skating" after Dancing On Ice and they have "ideas we want to pursue".
Asked about their favourite Dancing On Ice performance, Chris who performed with Jayne on roller skates for the Royal Variety Performance, said: "There are too many (to choose from)... Ray Quinn's performances were magical, Suzanne Shaw winning at the last minute."
He said of performing on roller skates at the Royal Variety: "It's a fantastic honour to be asked to be part of it", but added: "It's quite slippery out there."
