Diana Rigg joins new Pygmalion
Dame Diana Rigg is joining the cast of a forthcoming West End production of Pygmalion - 37 years after playing Eliza Doolittle.
The former star of 60s TV hit The Avengers, who has had a distinguished stage career, will star alongside Rupert Everett and Kara Tointon.
Dame Diana, 72, was in the Bernard Shaw play in 1974 for a production at the Albery Theatre, but this time will play the mother of Professor Henry Higgins.
The production, which is transferring from the Chichester Festival Theatre, will open at London's Garrick Theatre in May.
Rupert plays Professor Higgins, and former EastEnders star Kara will play Eliza, the Cockney flower-seller who is transformed into a society lady.
