Cameron Diaz tries to take each day as it comes.
The US actress, who next stars in the comedy Bad Teacher, insisted she doesn't make any plans about her life, preferring instead to see what happens.
"There's no destination. All I can say is that I'm in a constant forward motion," she told Cosmopolitan about her future.
Cameron also revealed that her father's death in 2008, at the age of 58, made her rethink her situation.
"Things have happened recently that have pushed me to grow. My father died, and going through that made me think about how I want to live my life," she said.
"I don't care what other people think. It's my life; I live it the way I want to. You get better as you age. You know what you want, and you become stronger, mentally and physically."
Cameron, who turns 39 in August and is dating baseball player Alex Rodriguez, isn't fussed about getting married or having children.
"Marriage hasn't been important to me. You can't have a child just because you think it's something you're supposed to do. It doesn't make sense for everyone. It's not an absolute for me," she revealed.
