Downton star at Cinderella premiere
Downton Abbey star Lily James will make her London debut as a Disney princess at the premiere of Cinderella tonight.
The 25-year-old actress - who made her name playing Lady Rose in the hit period drama - dons a pair of glass slippers to take the title role in the live action remake of the classic fairytale, directed by Sir Kenneth Branagh.
James and Branagh will be joined at the Odeon Leicester Square by Helena Bonham Carter, who plays Cinderella's fairy godmother as well as Downton Abbey's Sophie McShera and The Borgias' Holliday Grainger, who co-star as the ugly stepsisters.
Prince Charming himself, Game Of Thrones hunk Richard Madden, will also walk the red carpet along with Hayley Atwell, who plays Cinderella's mother in the film.
Downton alumni Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael and Siobhan Finneran are among the celebrity guests due to attend the premiere, along with Freddie Fox, Sinitta, Billie Piper and Laurence Fox.
Cinderella, which also stars Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett as the wicked stepmother, opens in UK cinemas on March 27.
An exhibition of costumes and props from the film, including the Swarovski crystal glass slippers and the pumpkin carriage, will also be on display in Leicester Square, open to the public from Saturday.
Tickets are free but must be applied for in advance from movies.disney.co.uk/cinderella/exhibition
