Downton's Daisy still in drab dress

Downton Abbey star Sophie McShera has complained she will still be wearing her smelly old dress in the new series of the show.

Filming has just begun on the third series of the award-winning show, which is set in the roaring 20s. And Sophie, who plays housemaid Daisy previously revealed her costume smells because her character wears the same dress throughout the show.

Sophie revealed: "Well my hair has changed from a side-parting to a sweep-back, but it's still greasy. And I'm wearing the same dress, I can officially announce. The same dress as last year!"

The Jerusalem star was joined at the Elle Style Awards by co-stars Hugh Bonneville, Laura Carmichael, Thomas Howes, Allen Leech and Lesley Nicol to collect the best TV show award.

Allen, who plays chauffeur Branson said: "Julian Fellowes the writer has said himself if he knew why it was so successful he'd bottle it and sell it. He doesn't even know himself."

Lesley added: "But people really like it all over the world so as long as they like it, we're happy."

Hollywood star Shirley MacLaine is due to arrive on set next week and Sophie and Lesley, who play servants in the show, revealed they plan to sneak upstairs to meet her if they are not given any scenes with her.
