Eagle lands for hotshot star Jamie Dornan

By Claire Williamson

Holywood-born actor Jamie Dornan has proved there is more than one talented golfer from the Co Down town.

The 33-year-old joined Brian O'Driscoll, AP McCoy, Kevin Pietersen, Ruud Gullit, Huey Lewis and Ronan Keating at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at St Andrews.

But the Fifty Shades actor showed he was a class above the rest as he wowed the crowd when he eagled the 18th hole during round one of the Pro-Am championship. It was a shot that fellow Holywood man Rory McIlroy would have been proud of.

The European Tour posted the shot on its Twitter page, which showed Dornan covering his face in disbelief as he watched the ball roll in.

The actor has enjoyed a hugely successful year after taking the lead role of Christian Grey in the film adaptation of the risque Fifty Shades trilogy.
