Eamonn Holmes, Graeme McDowell, Darren Clarke and Frampton share festive fun with fans

Northern Ireland stars have shared their festive snaps and Christmas messages with their fans.

Presenter Eamonn Holmes led the festive tweets with a picture of his pooch saying: "I have so much to be thankful for today and she sums up my happiness and how I feel towards those close to me."

He later posted a more poignant message for his fans saying: "If it's not going well for you so far, deep breath and start all over again.

"It's just one day but it can shape a whole year."

Golfer Graeme McDowell shared a family message to all his Twitter fans.

He said: "There's nothing much better in life than the look of wonder in a child's eye when Santa's been. Best present ever. Merry Christmas guys."

Meanwhile, Co Tyrone man Darren Clarke was golfing with his sons in the Bahamas.

The golf ace said: "Holes on this beautiful Christmas morning with a few refreshments onboard."

Great British Bake Off star, Andrew Smyth revealed he was enjoying party food and catching up with his family and friends.

"Merry Christmas one and all," he wished his followers.

Northern Ireland football captain, Steven Davies, tweeted from a family holiday in Lapland.

"Cherish spending time with the important people in your life," he said.

Dedicated boxer Carl Frampton revealed he was spending Christmas Eve in the gym and later tweeted a picture of his two children patiently waiting for Santa Claus to arrive.

Meanwhile, Londonderry producer and actress, Roma Downey posted a picture of herself with husband, Mark Burnett and said: "Wishing everyone of you a very Merry Christmas from all of us.

"A match made in heaven."
