Fairytale of New York tops most-played chart once more
Much-loved hit Fairytale Of New York has regained its position as the UK's most-played Christmas hit.
Figures supplied for radio airplay and public performances show the track by The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl was the top tune, bouncing back from number two the previous year.
The new data - from royalties body PPL, which covers last year's festive season - shows the Lily Allen song Somewhere Only We Know, which featured in the 2013 John Lewis Christmas ad campaign, finished in second place.
Third place went to All I Want For Christmas Is You by singer Mariah Carey. Along with Allen's new entry at number two, Leona Lewis's One More Sleep makes its debut at nine.
