Féile an Phobail is back for its 29th year with a packed programme of events for everyone to enjoy.

This year a wide range of music, theatre, comedy, and panel discussions will take place across 13 days, and here is everything you need to know about this year's festival:

When does Féile an Phobail 2017 take place?

Féile an Phobail kicks off from Tuesday, August 1 - Sunday, August 13.

Who is performing at this year's Féile?

Féile an Phobail always produces a fantastic line up of artists and this year is no different.

UB40 will headline Live in the Marquee on August 11, while The Wolfe Tones will take to the stage at the venue on August 13.

Boyzone and Westlife stars Kieth Duffy and Brian McFadden - colellctively known as Boyzlife - will perform what will no doubt be a packed gig at The Devenish on August 4.

What other highlights are in this year's programme?

Providing the best in entertainment and theatre, other highlights in Féile 2017 include:

  • Joyriders at An Chulturlann (August 9)
  • A Night with George at Duncarin Centre (August 1)
  • Best of Irish Comedy - with Jake O’Kane, John Colleary, Willa White & Terry White (August 10)
  • An Outstanding Leader: The Life and Times of Martin McGuinness at St Mary's University College (August 4)
  • Robin Williams: The Laughter and The Tears at The Felons Club (August 3 & 6)

When does the Féile Carnival Parade take place?

Seen as the highlight of the Féile calendar, the annual Carnival Parade takes place on Sunday, August 6.

What is the theme of this year's parade?

This year's theme is 'Rights and Revelry' and organisers say it's not only about having fun, but also highlighting and promoting equality, mutual respect and understanding, and celebrating all cultures and identities.

What time does the parade kick off?

The parade will assemble at the Dunville Park from 12.30pm (12noon for parade participants) before beginning at 1pm.

The colourful procession will then make its way to the Falls Park for the annual Party in the Park.

Spot prizes will be awarded on the day, including free tickets to various concerts in addition to £300 for Best Dressed Community Group, £300 for Best Attended Sporting Group, £300 for Best Community Float and £50 for Best Dressed Individual.
