Footy physio helps Strictly Susanna
Strictly Come Dancing star Susanna Reid was treated by Leicester City's physio after suffering pains in her ribcage which she thought may affect her ability to take part in the show.
She was put in contact with the team through Peter Crouch, the husband of fellow contestant Abbey Clancy and the manipulation worked wonders.
Breakfast presenter Reid began suffering pains on Wednesday as she practised with partner Kevin Clifton to the Creedence Clearwater Revival track Bad Moon Rising.
She consulted the show's physio but by yesterday it was worsening and she managed to do only two of the three usual run-throughs.
Later she was barely able to walk and stayed at a hotel near the studio to avoid a long journey home.
But Clancy alerted her to the fact that some of Leicester's staff were staying there and via Crouch she got a message to the physio Dave Rennie who helped her out with what was thought to be a problem with her alignment.
Reid said: "It was really painful after the rehearsal yesterday and I was really quite concerned. I felt very stiff, it was hard to walk and hard to breathe. But seeing the physio made a tremendous amount of difference and I can't thank him enough.
"To have one of the top physios in the country staying in the same hotel when I needed it most makes me feel it really was meant to be."
