Foyle's war becomes a cold one
Veteran detective Christopher Foyle is heading for the post-war period in a new series of the TV crime drama.
Three new episodes of Foyle's War will see the sleuth, played by Michael Kitchen, get involved in the murky world of the Cold War.
Michael, who has played Foyle since 2002, said: "It's great to be wanted and a pleasure to be back."
ITV said his co-star Honeysuckle Weeks, who plays Samantha Stewart, is also "expected" to return to the show.
The new two-hour episodes will see Foyle examine government corruption and uncover spies trading in atomic secrets.
Previous episodes have seen him take on Nazi sympathisers and black market racketeers.
The show's creator and lead writer, novelist Anthony Horowitz, said there were "still some amazing stories" he wanted to tell.
He said: "The war may be over but Foyle's career goes on."
