Galaxy of stars join Paddy Wallace for gala testimonial night

By Colin O'Carroll

Stars of sport, stage and screen turned out for a gala night to celebrate a testimonial event for Ulster Rugby star Paddy Wallace.

The event was held at Titanic Belfast and around 550 people were there to help support Autism Ireland.

Among those on the red carpet was The Fall and Fifty Shades of Grey actor Jamie Dornan. He was joined by fellow thespian Jimmy Nesbitt, fresh from his triumph in The Missing which has many people clamouring for him to be awarded a Bafta.

Nesbitt hosted the evening with his usual dry north Antrim wit.

Golfing wonder Rory McIlroy, home for a visit, posed happily with his rugby pal, while another world-beater, boxing champ Carl Frampton, was among the Ulster A-listers present.

Paddy's former Ulster team-mates turned out in force for the occasion, with Tommy Bowe, Rory Best, Andrew Trimble and Stephen Ferris all donning their tuxes for a big night in the grand ballroom with that famous staircase backdrop.
