Game of Thrones starlet to play a victim of cyber bullying
Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams has been cast in a new Channel 4 thriller about cyber bullying.
The 17-year-old actress will play Casey Jacobs, a teenage girl battling with her anonymous cyber-stalker.
Directed by Ben Chanan, Cyber Bully is based on dozens of real-life cases of young people who have been bullied online including those who have suffered advanced computer hacking.
Williams, best known for playing Arya Stark in HBO's Game of Thrones – which is filmed in Northern Ireland – has yet to star in a British series. Chanan said: "The audience will be trapped with Casey for a full screen hour and we need an exceptional actress to play her."
Maisie recently described Arya as "really cool" in a Teen Vogue interview. "The fact that she can speak her mind so freely and not worry about the consequences is really cool," she said.
"I think we all wish we could be a bit more like that."
