Game of Thrones White Walkers freeze Belfast water fountains solid

The terrifying White Walkers from Game of Thrones have frozen Belfast’s Custom House Square water fountains solid.

Bringing real meaning to the show's tagline, "Winter is Coming", the mythological race have been spotted prowling the streets of Belfast and causing chaos.

As fans of the show will know, the arrival of the White Walkers is usually accompanied by blizzards and the dropping of temperatures (just when you thought our "summer" weather couldn't get any worse).

But you won't need to grab your Valyrian steel sword just yet - it's all a stunt to promote Northern Ireland around the world as the home of Game of Thrones, where the hit TV series is filmed.

Tourism Ireland has been organising a series of these stunts to coincide with the fifth season of the show.

Last month saw the three-eyed ravens flock to Belfast City Halland giant footsteps appear on Portstewart Strand.
