Glenn Close to star on Broadway
Glenn Close is returning to the New York stage after 20 years.
The Damages actress is to appear in a Broadway revival of Edward Albee's A Delicate Balance later this year.
Glenn, who previously won Tonys for Sunset Boulevard, Death And The Maiden and The Real Thing, will co-star with John Lithgow, Lindsay Duncan, Bob Balaban, Clare Higgins and Martha Plimpton.
Albee's 1967 Pulitzer Prize-winning play examines the stresses and strains of family and friendship.
Glenn and John will play the long-married couple at the centre of the play - Agnes and Tobias.
As well as playing Tobias, John will star in Shakespeare's King Lear in Central Park this summer.
"They're two roles that I never intended to play in such proximity, but you can't turn them down," the two-time Tony Award winner said. "It's a great paring of roles. They really couldn't be more different."
A Delicate Balance will be directed by Pam MacKinnon, with previews beginning at the Golden Theatre in October and opening night set for November 20.
