Good Morning Britain's Laura Tobin welcomes daughter
Laura Tobin's daughter is currently being cared for in hospital after making an unscheduled early arrival.
Good Morning Britain meteorologist Laura Tobin has given birth to a daughter.
The new arrival was revealed by the show's co-host Susanna Reid, who said on Wednesday's (06Sep17) episode: "You may have noticed that Laura hasn't been here over the summer. We are pleased to say she has given birth to a little baby girl. She has called her Charlotte."
Laura, who is married to Dean Brown, later confirmed the news herself, writing on Twitter: "I'm proud to announce I'm a mummy - My beautiful baby arrived over the summer (much earlier than planned) a gorgeous girl called Charlotte."
She did not reveal her daughter's birthday or birth weight.
Susanna later revealed more details about the tot, telling viewers she is currently still in hospital.
"Little Charlotte came a little earlier than planned and she is being looked after in hospital. Laura and Dean are with her every day and she is growing every day," said Susanna, before her fellow presenter Piers Morgan added: "All our best to Laura and Dean and little baby Charlotte. It's been a tricky few months but good luck to all of you."
Laura had previously revealed that Charlotte was due at the end of October. She had announced her pregnancy on Good Morning Britain while presenting the weather forecast, saying: "I literally can't believe it's May so I thought I'd do a little forecast looking ahead at what is coming up. Now as we head through the summer months it's looking likely to be drier and warmer than average, and as we head into September things will be blooming.
"But it won't just be my dress, because I'm very pleased to let everyone know that come the end of October, I'll be having my own little ray of sunshine. I'm having a baby!"
