Greig's Friday Night board games

Tamsin Greig has revealed she and her Friday Night Dinner co-stars pass the time on set by playing board games.

The Episodes actress and Paul Ritter play the parents of Simon Bird and Tom Rosenthal in the Channel 4 comedy, which is returning for a second series.

"I don't see myself as their mother because I think it's genuinely rude that I should be playing the mother of boys that age. So what we do between takes is we play games. We have board games and so we keep ourselves pert by playing games and they're very good, quite competitive," she said.

Tamsin - who currently appears onstage at London's Duke Of York's Theatre in the play Jumpy - said fans of the show can look forward to "more of the same" from the new series.

"The boys still come around for supper on a Friday night - why they still do, I don't know, because it always goes wrong.

"And there's more Grandma. Grandma has a boyfriend in one. And they go back and regress and become even younger and behave even more puerile. And Jim the neighbour is ever more ardent."
