Formula One ace Lewis Hamilton has sent his ex-flame Nicole Scherzinger a gushing public message on her birthday.
The couple ended their relationship in February after seven years, with reports that she put the brakes on the relationship with the racing driver because he would not commit to marriage.
Now Hamilton, who spent the weekend at Glastonbury Festival, has spoken about his "memories" of life with the former Pussycat Doll in a post on his Instagram page.
As the singer marked her 37th birthday with a luxury holiday, Hamilton, 30, posted a picture of the pair together and wrote: "Dear friend, through the years we shared a lot, I wouldn't have changed a thing.
"All the experiences made me the man I'm proud to be right now.
"The memories together will never be taken away no matter how old we get and I'm thankful for the time we had. I'm wishing you the happiest of birthdays, and may God continue to bless you in all that you do."
One fan wrote: "Awwwwww please get back together for God's sake x", while another added: "I am sure she doesn't want to hear this... He should have just written a private message to her lol."
Hamilton was recently named Sports Personality of the Year and won his second Formula 1 title in November.
