Heigl: I'd like to return to Grey's
Katherine Heigl has announced that she'd love to return to Grey's Anatomy.
The actress hung up Dr Izzie Stevens' scrubs in 2010 - after playing the character for six seasons - because she wanted to focus on raising her adopted daughter Naleigh, who is now three.
But Katherine has now told E! News that she would like to reprise her role in the medical drama at some point.
The 33-year-old, who famously took herself out of the Emmy race in 2008, saying she did "not feel I was given the material this season to warrant a nomination", said: "Yeah totally. I really, really, really want to see where [Izzie] is."
She continued: "I just want to know what happened to her and where she went and what she's doing now. My idea is that she actually like figures it out, and finds some success and does really well in a different hospital. She was always floundering you know, and so she was always one step behind the eight ball and I want to see that girl take some power back."
The Knocked Up actress has already told show bosses she is interested in returning to Seattle Grace.
"I've told them I want to," she said. "I don't know... Being a show runner and being a writer of a TV series like that is so complicated that I mean, how many characters are there now? There's a lot and so she's balancing about 40 different storylines, so I don't know if it fits in to their sort of vision for this season or next or however many seasons it goes."
