Keri Hilson has apologised for joking about Amy Winehouse just hours before the tragic star's funeral.
The One Night Stand singer prompted an online backlash after posting a picture of her with a beehived friend on Twitter and a caption reading: "*gasp* Amy Winehouse resurrected to party w/ me!!! (seriously, uncanny resemblance)."
Keri was later forced to say sorry and insisted she hadn't intended to cause offence.
She wrote: "Come on, I mean no harm. All due respect. But really the resemblance freaked me out. This was simply the best tribute ever."
The star added: "I apologise to anyone who might've taken it the wrong way. As a fan, I thought it was cool that she dressed up to honour Amy.
"I had no ill intent, but I understand how it appears insensitive... my bad twitterville. For real."
Meanwhile, Amy's close friend Kelly Osbourne also took to the social networking site to express her grief.
After attending the Rehab singer's funeral, Kelly tweeted: "Today was the saddest day of my life."
