'I haven't heard it, I presume it's not very good' - Jamie Dornan on singing on Fifty Shades soundtrack

Co Down actor Jamie Dornan has been speaking about his offering on the new Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack.

The Holywood star, 35, is returning to cinema screens this week as billionaire Christian Grey in the third and final screen adaptation of EL James' erotic novels.

Last month is was revealed Jamie performs  the Paul McCartney song Maybe I'm Amazed during the course of the film, which was included as a bonus track for the official soundtrack.

However, speaking to ITV's Lorraine Kelly, the Northern Ireland star revealed he hasn't even heard the the recording and there was a lot of pressure while filming the scene.

He explained: "We were shooting at the home of Canadian singer Sarah McLachlan and she did a rendition of a couple of her songs before (we began filming) and everyone was spellbound by this amazing singing.

"She finished and everyone was crying, and then they were like, 'OK Jamie we're ready for you now.'

"And I had to say say, 'Can everyone leave, I cannot bear to try and follow that!'

"I kind of got through it. There was a plan to have a longer version on the soundtrack, but they ended up just putting the bit we did on the day as a bonus track.

"I haven't actually heard it yet, I presume it's not very good."

Jamie has previously performed as part of NI duo Sons of Jim with his friend David Alexander - reminiscing with host Lorraine about how that's when he first met her.

During his chat, Jamie also spoke about his love for his family and golf - joking how it's great whenever he is able to combine the two.

"When I'm not working, everything is just about family and the kids and it's amazing," he said. "It's hard work, but we love it.

"I do plan to get them into golf at some stage, I love the idea of taking my kids on golf trips with me."

On the prospect of returning as Christian Grey in the future, Jamie commented: "(Author)Erica did write two more books from Christian's perspective, but I guess we've already seen those stories so we won't do that again.

"Unless Erica keeps writing... but I'm getting too old for this I think!"

Jamie will star alongside Dakota Johnson in Fifty Shades Freed, which is released in cinemas on February9.

Meanwhile, a one hour special with NI journalist and broadcaster Eamonn Mallie will air on UTV on Wednesday.

The actor will be speaking about the Fifty Shades phenomenon, growing up in Northern Ireland, and why he "just feels Irish".
