It's still love all as Caroline Wozniacki says Rory McIlroy remains the perfect match

Rory McIlroy is good for my game – and our relationship is very special, tennis star Caroline Wozniacki has said.

The Dane made a hasty Wimbledon exit in the first round last year, but turned on the style in front of the watching Rory McIlroy, her golf superstar boyfriend, as she dropped just two games against Estrella Cabeza Candela yesterday. The sporting couple began dating in the summer of 2011, when Wozniacki was ranked No 1 in the world – although she has now dropped to nine.

World No 2 Rory will be playing in the Irish Open later this week, but Wozniacki hopes he will be back to see her in action at the All England Club on Monday.

"I just really like having Rory around and it is great that he comes to support me," she said.

"He has the Irish Open the first week of Wimbledon so hopefully he will be able to follow me the second week."

Wozniacki's fall in the rankings has put her relationship with Rory in the spotlight.

"It's not easy, but we make it work," Wozniacki, who wore a Stella McCartney-designed top to warm up, said. "When you know, you know. I think what Rory and I have is very special.

"He's trying to work it out with his schedule, I'm trying to go and see him when I can, so in that way it's been working out well so far. We speak every day but we never have a set time where we have to speak. We just do it because we want to."

Also enjoying the first day of the Championships yesterday was Pippa Middleton.

The Duchess of Cambridge's sister joined brother James in the Royal Box as they watched reigning title holder Roger Federer sweep to victory against Victor Hanescu.
