Shane Warne has confirmed he has split from his wife amid reports linking him to model Liz Hurley.
The former Aussie cricket star's admission comes just hours after Liz said she had parted from her husband, businessman Arun Nayar.
In a message posted on his website, the 41-year-old ex-spin bowler said today: "Sadly and unfortunately, Simone and I split up a while ago, our close friends and family were informed at that time.
"It is a private matter so we did not make it public. We remain friends and will continue to be good parents."
He and Liz, 45, spent two nights together in a London hotel suite last week, according to the News of the World.
The unlikely pair have been exchanging messages on social networking site Twitter.
Liz - also an actress, producer and businesswoman - used the site to confirm her separation: "Not a great day. For the record, my husband Arun & I separated a few months ago. Our close family & friends were aware of this."
The 45-year-old, who dated actor Hugh Grant for more than a decade, has an eight-year-old son Damian from a relationship with film producer Steve Bing. She married Arun three years ago.
Shane flew into the UK on Wednesday to shoot interviews for his new TV show, Warnie, and the News Of The World said he and Liz spent Wednesday and Thursday night at his hotel in South Kensington.
