Jaffrey jumped at Chicago role
Raza Jaffrey has confessed he jumped at the opportunity to take to the stage in Chicago.
The British-born actor, who's currently starring in American TV series Smash, said he was a huge fan of the musical.
"I'm going back to London on Wednesday, actually, and I'm being a Brit again for a little while, I'm going back to play Billy Flynn," he said at the launch of Brit Week in Los Angeles.
"I bit their hand off."
He added: "I've loved the show for a long time, I love the music."
And the former Spooks star has had some recent practice at song and dance routines on Smash.
The most recently-aired US episode of the show saw him tackle a Bollywood-themed performance alongside co-stars Katharine McPhee and Debra Messing.
"Last night was the first time I'd sung in Smash - it came as a surprise to me as well," he laughed.
"I ended up singing and dancing, it was the biggest production number we'd done."
