James Nesbitt and Game of Thrones up for Golden Globes

Game Of Thrones will go head-to-head with Downton Abbey at the Golden Globes after the HBO fantasy drama filmed in Northern Ireland was nominated for best TV series.

And BBC1 drama The Missing - starring Co Antrim actor James Nesbitt - is up for best mini-series.

Benedict Cumberbatch is nominated for best movie actor for his role as Alan Turing in The Imitation Game, while Eddie Redmayne is recognised for playing Professor Stephen Hawking in The Theory Of Everything.

Felicity Jones is up for best film actress for her portrayal of Hawking's first wife Jane, with Rosamund Pike honoured for her appearance in Gone Girl.
