Jeremy McConnell investigated by police over Stephanie Davis' assault claims - report

Stephanie Davis is said to have claimed Jeremy McConnell assaulted her at her Liverpool flat last Thursday (09Mar17).

Jeremy McConnell is reportedly being investigated by police over allegations he assaulted ex-girlfriend Stephanie Davis.

The 27-year-old model is said to have started "behaving oddly" at Stephanie's Liverpool house, which she shares with the former Celebrity Big Brother couple's two-month-old son Caben-Albi, last Thursday (09Mar17) - with his volatility leading the shaken actress to call police and report the incident on Sunday.

"Merseyside Police can confirm a report was received of an assault at a property on Thursday 9 March," police confirmed in a statement. "Officers were contacted on Sunday, 12 March and an investigation into the incident is ongoing. At this time no arrests have been made."

A representative for Jeremy was approached by Mirror Online about the claims, and responded: "Jeremy denies any wrong doing, however he is fully cooperating with the police in their investigations."

Stephanie, 24, has yet to talk publicly about the alleged assault. However, fans became concerned about her wellbeing when she posted a picture on her Snapchat earlier this week (beg13Mar17) showing her incredibly bruised legs as she sat in the bath.

She made no mention of the bruises as she captioned the snap "Trying to relax", but her followers were quick to question the actress about the marks, with Stephanie “liking" a tweet from one fan which read: "What the hell has happened to your legs love?"

Another message, which Stephanie "liked" read: "Jesus love, them bruises. Hope you’re OK."

Stephanie and Jeremy had only recently got back on good terms following a bitter split and paternity battle over baby Caben-Albi.

Jeremy had relocated to Liverpool from his native Ireland in order to be closer to his son, and Stephanie was seen supporting him as the pair attended the funeral of his father Eugene Cooke after he died following a battle with cancer.

But Stephanie recently sparked rumours something was wrong when she unfollowed Jeremy on Twitter.

It has also been alleged that the death of Jeremy's father, as well as the tragic passing of his aunt just days later, had contributed to his stress, while his temporary move back to Ireland to be near family and friends in the wake of the losses is said to have added to his relationship with Stephanie becoming "strained".

“As a result (of the stress) his relationship with Stephanie has become strained again but hopefully some time apart will do them both good,” a source told The Sun newspaper.
