Kanye defends Kim relationship
Kanye West has said he doesn't care if being with Kim Kardashian damages his credibility because he loves her so much.
The rapper opened up in an emotional interview with his girlfriend's mum Kris Jenner on her talk show, Kris.
Kanye, who became a parent for the first time when Kim had daughter North in June, said he had been through tough times after his mother's death.
He said: "After I lost my mother, there was times I felt... like, I would put my life at risk, I felt like sometimes I didn't have something to live for, and now I have two really special people to live for, a whole family to live for, a whole world to live for."
Talking about suggestions he could lose his street cred by being with a Kardashian, he said: "I could have people saying this is going to damage your credibility as an artist or as a designer and I say I don't care, I love this woman.
"Or someone could say you know when the paparazzi surround you, everyone knows you don't like paparazzi, but why would you be with this person? And I'm saying I'm being with this person because I love this person and she's worth it to me."
Kanye went on to say he hoped to live like his grandfather: "My grandfather just passed, and his whole thing was never about money, it was never about popularity, his whole thing was joy, just joy like having joy in his life.
"She's my joy and she brought my new joy into the world, and there's no paparazzi and there's no blah comment and there's nothing that's going to take that joy from me."
