Kardashian: Don't call me stupid
Kim Kardashian has hit back at Jon Hamm for calling her an "idiot", describing his comments as "careless".
The Mad Men star, best known for playing womanising advertising executive Don Draper in the award-winning series, criticised celebrity culture and referred to socialites such as Kim and Paris Hilton as "f****** idiots" in an interview with Elle UK.
Kim - who shot to fame with her siblings in reality TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians - wrote back in an extended post on Twitter: "I respect Jon and I am a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that not everyone takes the same path in life.
"We're all working hard and we all have to respect one another. Calling someone who runs their own businesses, is a part of a successful TV show, produces, writes, designs, and creates, 'stupid,' is in my opinion careless," she added.
Jon said in the interview: "We're at a place where the idea of being 'elite' is somehow considered a negative. Whether it's Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated. Being a f****** idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you're rewarded significantly. And incuriousness has become cool... it's celebrated."
His views mirrored Bond star Daniel Craig, who previously said: "Look at the Kardashians... You see that and you think, 'What, you mean all I have to do is behave like an idiot on television and then you'll pay me millions?'"
