Kelly brings Hollywood to Corrie

Katherine Kelly brought old-school glamour to Coronation Street's cobbles after she was transformed into a 50s screen vamp.

She and other Weatherfield favourites were given a movie-style makeover for the moody black and white shots, reminiscent of vintage Hollywood photoshoots.

The cast portraits - taken by ITV photographer Rob Evans - are to feature in a new exhibition in Manchester.

Katherine, who plays gobby barmaid Becky McDonald, swapped her trashy screen outfits for an elegant gown, while actors Michael Le Vell and Alan Halsall - better known as mechanics Kevin Webster and Tyrone Dobbs - ditched their overalls to pose in suits in the garage.

Craig Gazey, who plays cheeky Graeme Proctor, strikes a moody pose in another shot.

The pictures will be displayed at Manchester gallery Generation Pop before they are sold at a silent auction, with the proceeds going to Coronation Street's 50th anniversary appeal.

The exhibition opens with a private viewing on January 27 and will be on display to the public until February 16.
