Kelly Brook checks in for Belfast appointment

By Joanne Sweeney

If Kelly Brook felt jet lag after just arriving into Belfast after a flight from the US, she hid it well.

The model, actress and television presenter was in the city yesterday to officially open the new Skechers store in Donegall Place.

She looked movie star glamorous and in prime condition as she cut the ribbon to open the new shop that has created 10 retail jobs.

As the global ambassador for the brand that is taking on sports shoe competitor Adidas, the 35-year-old caused a stir with city shoppers when it became clear that a top VIP and entourage was in town.

Despite her low-key outfit - ripped designer blue jeans with a white and blue checked shirt and, of course, blue Infinity Skechers - most onlookers agreed Kelly looked even better in real life than she does in the media.

Just a few days ago the bubbly model, who loves a selfie as much as Kim Kardashian, posted some pictures of herself on the beach in Miami wearing very skimpy Daisy Duke shorts.

She was with her current boyfriend, Frenchman Jeremy Parisi, who seems to enjoy Kelly's penchant for posing.

And to answer the burning question from one young woman outside who was dying to see what Kelly's famed figure was like - the answer is slim, yet enviably curvy.

Kelly was in top form and friendly with all the visitors who came into the shop, happily posing for photographs with them.

She told the Belfast Telegraph: "It's lovely to be back and see everybody.

"I love Belfast and I had a brilliant time here when I shot The Film with Keith Lemon. I loved all the bars and the City Hall.

"I was here during Christmastime, so I really loved the Bavarian markets and the beer tents. It was really festive and lovely.

"I've been back to Belfast only once since then, when I was appearing at a local ball.

"I tend not to get over here too much, but it's lovely when something like this comes along."

The Skechers Belfast store is the firm's second shop here, the other being in Craigavon's Rushmere Shopping Centre.

Big-name celebrities such as Christina Aguilera, Robert Downey Jr and Kim Kardashian have been used previously to advertise the brand.
