Kem Cetinay and Chris Hughes' Love Island spin-off confirmed
The programme will be a two-part series on ITV2 with the potential to develop into a longer-running show.
Kem Cetinay and Chris Hughes' bromance will be followed in a Love Island spin-off, ITV2 has confirmed.
While Kem won the matchmaking programme with girlfriend Amber Davies, it was his friendship with farmer Chris that really captured viewers' hearts. And following claims that network bosses were keen for the duo to have their own show, the venture has now been confirmed.
"The bromance is back! You'll be seeing Chris & Kem again soon. They're busy grafting away on their own @itv2 show! Watch this space...," the official Love Island Twitter account tweeted on Tuesday night (08Aug17).
Kem retweeted the message with the added post, "We are back baby who's ready?!?!", while Chris shared a snap of himself and Kem in bed together, writing: "Back soon, cannot wait."
Further details about the programme were revealed by The Sun. The newspaper reports the show will be a two-part series which will air on ITV2 later this year, with the potential of it becoming a longer-running series if ratings are positive.
"Kem and Chris will begin filming for their brand new show this week," a source told the publication. "The series will be all about their bromance and what happened from the point of them leaving the villa until now. It has been commissioned as a two-part series at the moment – with the thought to develop it into a longer running show."
Love Island fans became hooked on Kem and Chris' friendship during their time in the house, with the pair rapping together and making each other laugh with their silly antics.
They even suggested giving each other infinity bracelets to symbolise their close bond, but Kem thought it might annoy Amber - to whom he had already given a pink infinity band.
And when Kem was given the chance of keeping the full £50,000 prize to himself or splitting with Amber on the Love Island final, someone in the audience got big laughs by suggesting he should split it with Chris.
