Kingsland Road: We're fighting back

Kingsland Road have promised to show "a new" side to them with their upcoming performances on The X Factor.

The London-based boy band - Josh Zare, Joe 'Connor' Conaboy, JJ Thompson, Matt Cahill and Jay Scott - admitted that ending in the sing-off opposite Shelley Smith has given them the push to raise their game.

Matt said: " It's given us so much drive. We've got to do what we did on Sunday every Saturday. We have to go there. We just have to pour out our hearts because this (singing) is what we want to do."

JJ said: "We're still sticking to our guns, keeping the choreography in, the harmonies and all, but we want to try something a little different - give more people solo lines and bring in our own characters because we didn't do that this weekend. We have to perform every song as if it's the last song we perform on stage. That's how we have to perform from now on, and because of Sunday, we now realise that."

Josh added: "It's going to be a smashing performance hopefully. You will see a new Kingsland Road."

The group were joined by the other X Factor acts as they walked up the red carpet at the world premiere of Thor: The Dark World alongside the film's stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman and Idris Elba.

Kingsland Road only had praise for their mentor Gary Barlow.

Jay said: "He's the best mentor we could ever ask for. He's from the biggest boy band ever. We talk to him on Twitter all the time, he gives us so much advice. He's basically one of Kingsland Road. He's like one of the lads."

The X Factor continues on ITV1 on Saturdays and Sundays.
