Kylie dazzles as she chats to William at Palace charity do

By Staff Reporter

Pop princess Kylie Minogue met her prince last night in the fitting surroundings of a charity gala evening at Buckingham Palace.

The pint-sized Australian singer enjoyed a chat with Prince William during a reception for the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust in London.

Kylie, who turned 50 last month, looked stunning in a shimmering silver gown as she spoke warmly to the Duke of Cambridge ahead of a dinner to thank supporters of the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

The former Neighbours star was there to show her support for the specialist care centre having come through her own battle with the disease when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005.

Speaking at the reception, Prince William told guests how vital the hospital was to the country, explaining: "The Royal Marsden ensures that doctors, nurses and research teams can develop life-saving treatments and provide the very best of care. I simply cannot thank you enough."

Kylie is, of course, a favourite of the royal family, having performed recently at the celebrations for the Queen's 92nd birthday.
