Lamb: No Gavin And Stacey return
Larry Lamb has told Gavin And Stacey fans not to expect a new series of the sitcom anytime soon.
The actor - who played Gavin's dad Mick Shipman in the BBC comedy - said that there was "not a chance in hell" of creators Ruth Jones and James Corden bringing out a new British instalment of the hit show.
He told Digital Spy that the pair were too busy focusing more on the new US version of the BBC series, which also starred Mathew Horne and Joanna Page and was set in Barry, south Wales, and Billericay in Essex.
Speaking at the Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards, he was quoted as saying: "They're busy doing an American version of it. I think that's the next time you'll see it."
Larry, who is working with his Gavin And Stacey co-star Alison Steadman on new ITV show Love And Marriage, said he had "no idea" whether the show will work in America, where it has the title Us And Them and will star Jason Ritter and Alexis Bledel as Gavin and Stacey.
