A coffee cup that accidentally appeared during a scene in Game of Thrones was from a local coffee shop in Northern Ireland, the show's art director has confirmed.

Eagled-eyed fans were quick to spot the coffee cup among the mugs of ale in the latest episode of Game of Thrones, which was filmed in Northern Ireland.

In a statement after the episode air, HBO confirmed the mistake.

"The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake," the company said in a statement.

Many viewers believed the rogue coffee cup was from Starbucks, but the show's art director Hauke Richer told TMZ that the brew actually came from a local coffee shop in Northern Ireland, not far from where the episode was filmed.
