Leaked emails have reportedly revealed Meghan Markle's plans to include marijuana in guests' gift bags at her wedding to first husband Trevor Engelson.

According to The Sun, in an email from a friend suggesting the Duchess buy a specific type of gift bag, Markle replied: “Already ordered ’em. And teeny ones for the pot that say ‘shh’.”

The guests' marijuana wedding favours were first revealed in December by Meghan's estranged father, Thomas Markle.

In an interview with The Daily Mail, Mr Markle said: "It’s illegal, but it’s no big deal in Jamaica. It’s almost customary down there. I don’t smoke weed and to the best of my knowledge nor does Meghan. I don’t know what I did with mine. I think I gave it away."

Over 200 joints were allegedly delivered to guests in gift bags left in their hotel rooms for their arrival, which sources claim the 37-year-old had a hand in rolling.

Markle and Hollywood producer Engelson began dating in 2004 and married in September 2011 at what was described an insider as "a boozy beach wedding" at Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios.

At the time of the wedding, any possession of cannabis in Jamaica was illegal but laws have since been relaxed to make possession of small amounts a "petty offence".

One of the 100 guests said: “I don’t think Meghan thought for a second about it as a legal issue, even though they were holding a large quantity of it. It was part of their plan.

“Some people were lighting up all weekend, particularly Trevor’s friends. Meghan herself not so much, she was fairly constrained. She preferred to drink but I don’t think she wanted to be a party-pooper so she would take a puff from time to time to be a part of it.”

Markle and Engelson divorced in August 2013 citing irreconcilable differences. Meghan and Harry were set up on a blind date in July 2016.
