Liam Gallagher launches Twitter rant against Irish rockers U2

Liam Gallagher launched an expletive laden rant about Irish stars U2 on Twitter after being asked if he would be going to see them perform live.

The former Oasis star said he would rather 'eat s**t' than go to one of their gigs, branding them 'beige f**ks'.

Liam's choice of words came after a fan asked him if he would be going to watch the Irish rockers perform their Joshua Tree Tour at Twickenham this weekend - Liam's brother Noel and his band High Flying Birds will be the support act.

Continuing his rant, Liam said he wasn't scared of 'Bingo and his naff band' - prompting some Twitter users to comment that he should 'grow up'.

Liam's comments come just one month after he was asked his opinion on frontman Bono by Irish presenter Ian Dempsey.

"I'm not in awe of him but he means something to someone," he said.

"I like U2. The first albums were good. Listen, he's Bono."
