Lindsay Lohan takes West End role

Lindsay Lohan has confirmed she is set to take to the West End stage later this year.

The troubled star has been spotted partying in London for several weeks and now she has revealed she is in the UK for a possible part in a new production of David Mamet's play Speed-the-Plow in November.

Lindsay told the New York Time s fashion blog On The Runway: "It's the first time I've done a stage play or anything like that. I'm nervous but I'm excited."

The 27-year-old Mean Girls star was spotted on the front row at the Moschino show during the London Collections: Men fashion week.

But she said: "I'm going back to my West End world.

"I'm a little overwhelmed. I haven't done this - I haven't really done the shows - in the last few years. But I live for fashion."

Speed-the-Plow is a play about Hollywood executives who dream of making a hit movie.

The play premiered on Broadway in 1988 featuring Madonna in the role of Karen - the part Lindsay is in talks to play.

Elisabeth Moss played the role in a Broadway revival in 2008 and Kevin Spacey put on a West End production at The Old Vic the same year.
