Lohan's dad: Her addiction my fault
Lindsay Lohan's father has said he blames himself for her addiction problems.
The former child star recently opened up in a TV interview with Oprah Winfrey about her battle with drink and drug addiction. Though she spoke about her dysfunctional upbringing, she said she blames no-one but herself.
But Michael told Life And Style magazine: "I don't think she should have taken any of the blame for what happened to her. It's my fault and Dina's fault. We put her in the middle of the divorce. Now it's up to me and Dina to make this better."
Michael, who divorced Lindsay's mother Dina in October 2007, added that Lindsay's problems and court battles have brought the family closer together again. The Mean Girls star began to go off the rails after her parents first separated in 2005.
"The healing in our family has really helped a lot. We really came together in helping her," he told the US mag.
Lindsay's father is now confident that after eight years she is finally on the road to recovery.
Michael said: "I think she has really turned a corner on this. Lindsay is back to who she was, a very kind-hearted and compassionate person.
"This is different than in the past. She has finally surrendered and is taking her life seriously."
