Manchester United legend Cantona to hold court in Belfast

Football legend Eric Cantona is set to appear on stage in Belfast later this year.

The former Manchester United star will host An Evening with Eric Cantona: The Return Of The King at the Waterfront in the city on Monday October 29.

He will also appear at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin on Tuesday, 30 October.

Tickets for his Belfast show are available now and are priced from £45.

Fans will hear the Frenchman discuss an array of topics, including his favourite players, why he retired at the peak of his career and what it was about Manchester that he loved. 

He’ll also talk about what it was like making the Ken Loach movie, Looking For Eric.

Cantona said of his upcoming show: “I am really looking forward to (it). I have lots of stories to tell about my days at the greatest club of all, my beloved Manchester United with the best fans in the world."

The 51-year-old retired from football in 1997.

He has since made a forray into the world of acting, with appearances in Elizabeth alongside Cate Blanchett and Loach's Looking For Eric.
