Marvel's Agents to air on Channel 4
Avengers Assemble spin-off show Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is to air on Channel 4 in the UK.
The new show features Iron Man and Avengers actor Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, who assembles a small, highly select group of Agents to investigate mysterious happenings around the world and protect the ordinary from the extraordinary.
The comic book show is being overseen by Avengers Assemble writer and director Joss Whedon, creator of hit shows Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel and Dollhouse.
Coulson's team consists of espionage expert Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), martial artist Agent Melinda May, played by ER's Ming-Na Wen, engineer Agent Leo Fitz, played by The Fades' Iain De Caestecker and genius scientist Agent Jemma Simmons, played by former Hollyoaks star Elizabeth Henstridge.
They will be joined by new recruit and computer hacker, Skye, played by Nashville's Chloe Bennet.
Jay Hunt, Channel 4's chief creative officer, said: "Like the superhero universe from which it has come, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is big, bold and absolutely exhilarating. Featuring the production values you'd expect from Marvel and ABC Studios, this is family entertainment at its most exciting."
