McElderry wants to do Strictly

Joe McElderry has revealed he would like to sign up for Strictly Come Dancing.

The singer and songwriter has already enjoyed wins on three reality shows - The X Factor, Popstar To Operastar and most recently Channel 4's winter sports contest The Jump - and admitted he would like to tackle the dancefloor next, reported Digital Spy.

He said: "I would love to do something like Strictly Come Dancing. That would be great fun - that would be so much fun.

"I'm a bit of a frustrated dancer so that would be nice. But yeah, other than that, if they (reality shows) come along and it's something that you fancy doing, then I'm always open to do them."

Joe said when it comes to picking reality programmes he is always looking to learn something.

"These kind of shows - when they come up, when you get asked to do them, I always look at the shows and think, 'Am I going to learn something from it, and am I going to be showing progress in it?' because that's what I want to do," explained the 22-year-old.

"With this show (The Jump), we were all pushed out of our comfort zones, all doing things - it was productive. So if there was something else that comes along that would be productive [I'd consider it]."

Joe won The X Factor in 2009 and was the champion of Popstar To Operastar in 2011. Earlier this week he beat journalist Donal MacIntyre to be crowned the winner of The Jump.
