Michelle Williams may have played screen siren Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn, but she doesn't see herself as sexy.
The 31-year-old actress, who won a Golden Globe for her performance as Marilyn, showed off her figure in a revealing shoot for US GQ.
"I wouldn't say that would be one of my first qualities as a human being - being sexy," she said.
Michelle, who became famous after playing bad girl Jen Lindley in teen drama Dawson's Creek and showed her vampish side in Deception, said that she never wanted bombshell roles.
"I think because my character on Dawson's Creek was sexy... sexualised... sexual... I saw all the negative attention and connotations that can come along with that. And that those things can keep people from seeing you clearly," she continued.
"When you play sexy you're kind of playing just for men. That is something you have to police and turn it on its head. I mean, sexuality has been a part of my work, obviously... Blue Valentine... but it's never been sexy. It hasn't been beautiful."
Michelle also spoke of how the sudden death of partner Heath Ledger turned her and her daughter's lives upside down.
"I really wanted, and I really expected or imagined, that Matilda would have siblings that were close to her age. I wanted that for her. But I couldn't make that happen. And now that she's six that isn't even a possibility any more," she explained.
